Girls outshine boys in HP Board 12th result

In the Class 12 examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala, girls outshone boys in the merit list of Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

The Class 12 exams were held from March 10 to 31.

The overall pass percentage was 79.4%. The result will be available on the HPBOSE website www.hpbose.org.

HPBoSE secretary Vishal Sharma said that a total of 1,05,369 students appeared for the exam, out of which 83,418 passed. 8139 candidates got compartment.

Sharma said further that the candidates who want to get their answer sheets re-evaluated or re-checked can apply through online mode only by depositing the fee. 500 more 400 respectively by June 4.

In science stream, Ojaswini Upamanyu of Government School Ghanari (Una district) has topped with 98.6% marks while Kanpuria of Government School Chururu (Una) has secured the second position with 98.2% marks.

Arnav of Govt. School, Hauri Devi (Kangra) and Arshdeep Chowdhary of Govt. School, Dhusra (Una) shared the third position by scoring 98% marks.

Twenty-four of the 36 students who made it to the top 10 list were girls and 12 were boys.

In the arts stream, Tarnija Thakur of DAV School Una, Divya Jyoti of Route Model Public School Karsog (Mandi), Nupur Kaith of Government Girls School Portmote (Shimla) and Jayesh of Government School Jarwa Juneli (Sirmour) jointly stood first. Each secured the first position by securing 97.4% marks.

Niharika Thakur of Government Girls School, Portmore secured the second position by securing 97.2% marks, followed by Sanaya of Government School, Utpur (Hamirpur), Kashish of Government School, Rampur Bushahr (Shimla) and Bhumika of New Gurukul Public School, Gopal Nagar. Thakur (Solan) stood joint third with 97% marks.

50 students have made it to the merit list, out of which 45 are girls.

Vrinda Thakur of Government School, Sarahan (Sirmour) topped the commerce stream with 98.4% marks, followed by Anisha of BKD School (Devi Nagar), Paonta Sahib (Sirmour) who scored 98%. Ankita of Government School, Ghanari (Una) and Sweta Devi of The New Era School of Sciences, Chhatri (Kangra) secured the third position with 97.6% marks. A total of 24 students have made it to the merit list, out of which 21 are girls.

The combined merit list includes 49 students, of which 37 are girls.
