CBSE Class 12 Results 2023: Prayagraj region has the lowest pass percentage

Prayagraj region, which comprises 49 districts of Uttar Pradesh, recorded the lowest pass percentage of 78.05% among all 16 regions in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 exam, results of which were announced on Friday.

Trivandrum region stood first with 99.91% pass percentage. This year, the overall pass percentage of CBSE Class 12 exam is 87.33%, which is a drop of 5.38% as compared to 2022 when the pass percentage was 92.71%.

In the CBSE Class 10 exam, Prayagraj region stood ninth among all 16 regions with a pass percentage of 92.55%.

Trivandrum region once again stood first with a pass percentage of 99.91%. Guwahati region was at the bottom of the table with 76.90% pass percentage. This year, the overall pass percentage in CBSE Class 10 exams is 93.12%, a decline of 1.28% compared to 2022 when the pass percentage was 94.40%.

In the CBSE Class 12 exam, there has been a decline in the pass percentage of both girls and boys this year as compared to last year. The pass percentage of girls is 90.68% while that of boys is 84.67%.

Overall girls have performed 6.01% better than boys. In 2022, girls recorded a pass percentage of 94.54% and boys 91.25%.

In CBSE class 10 also, this year the pass percentage of both girls and boys has dropped as compared to last year. The pass percentage of girl is 94.25% while that of boys is 92.27%. Overall, girls have performed 1.98% better than boys. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 95.21% and boys 93.80% in 2022.

To avoid unhealthy competition, CBSE has neither declared the merit list of toppers nor has it awarded first, second and third class to its students.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated the students, parents and teachers. In a tweet in Hindi, the chief minister said, “Heartiest congratulations to all the students, their parents and teachers who have been successful in the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams. This success is a reflection of your talent, dedication and hard work. Wish you all the best for your bright future.”
